Swimming in a Snowstorm

When your deck looks like this...

and your husband is outside doing this...

and your kids have already played Connect 4...

played with their Cars cars...

and they've burned through the Toy Story Memory game

that was supposed to be a Christmas gift...

What's a mama to do???

Pull out their swim trunks, life jackets, and make a pretend swimming pool out of a beach towel! (Yes, I was desperate.)

As I write this on Sunday evening, we have been cooped up inside for 48 hours straight, since Friday night. The blizzard that hit this weekend was the 5th worst on record, for a grand total  of 17 inches of snow. It’s currently 0 degrees outside. Yes, I’m afraid it’s going to be a loooooong winter!

Ohhh stop it. That's too much snow. It will be a long winter. "Taxi, please!"

How clever you are to break out the imagination and swim!

Oh My Gosh...
Sweetie I wish I could send you some of sunshine. We are expecting a beautiful 88 degrees here in the valley. Doesn't feel like Christmas weather, but it sure does feel good to the old bones. I love it.

Now that snow, nope don't want it. Lived it, hated it, and don't miss it. The little guys looks SO precious ready for the beach. It's ashame you don't have a wader pool, you could have filled it up, threw them in. Wouldn't that be fun? I mean it is warm in the house. You are so darn clever. I loved it.

Thank you for sharing sweetie. You are a blessing to my heart. Many hugs and SO much love, Sherry

What a wonderful mother you are. Most mothers with young children cooped up like this would be going bonkers. You have quite the imagination!

oh yes...but you are good at being creative like that (remember your camping trip) just think of all the fun...and make sure you stock up on coffee...lol

Great creativity though!! Those are the things kids remember when they are older and decide that they did, indeed, have a great childhood!

That is seriously so creative! I can't even imagine that much snow...and zero! We are freezing today with a high of 40!!

Can you believe it's not even officially Winter yet!? I couldn't believe how much snow we got! I think we got just about 20 inches here and the drifts were a good 4-5 feet. Wowzers! At least we'll have a white Christmas. :) (I am SO ready for Spring!)

We got 8 inches here in Middle Tn. That might not sound like alot to some of you but Tennessee is extremely hilly and we are not well equipped for this. It has about shut us down! But, it is fun. I love it

What a creative mother! The boys looked like they liked your idea, too. I'm not a snow lover, but that much snow here would shut things down and that I would love!

Oh my - that is a lot of snow! I cannot imagine. Very creative fun with thoughts of summer!

You're my kind of mama! You make these kinds of situations treats instead of catastrophes!

How creative! But don't send the snow this way. It only snowed a little this weekend, but I'm miserable! Ugh, I need the sun and 90 degree weather!

Hey!!! Wait for me, guys!, don't go in the deep end! Chuckle! They are darling, sweetie.

Have so missed you & when we were gone & saw that storm coming thru your area, I told Harold 'I hope CM is blowing hard in our direction' ... I am white with envy!!!

Pop over & read about sis Sherry & my trip ...

Have a lovely winter's eve ~

You would think that Mother Nature, being a woman, would have some empathy for mothers.

Oh Yikes! Makes me regret what I said the other day. I was saying that from teenage memories of the days when we got to skip school, not as a mama who'd been trapped inside with two toddlers!

so not fun!!!!
I really do not miss the cold midwest weather... I'm loving my warm Phoenix weather so much better... but it sure doesn't feel Christmas-like

hopefully you will be outside soon building snowmen and snow angels

I love seeing the snow pictures...I live in FL and really miss the changing of the seasons..but not so much the nasty ice and having to go out and warm up your car 1/2 hour before you go any where...
The swimming on a towel idea was priceless! Good thinking!

Hi Sweetie...
Has any of the snow melted yet? Are you still swimming indoors? I know the two little ones are having the time of their lives.

Have they written their letters to Santa? The grands have written and mailed theirs now. They are getting SO excited. I love the Christmas spirit. It is so much fun to relive the spirit through our kids first, and now our grands. I love it.

Stay warm sweetie. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

Where do you think they'll put the rest of the snow for the season? Crazy, huh?

You're such a creative mom! Good job at keeping everyone happy!
