A Little Getaway

For the past 5 days, this was our view.

My hubby, the boys, and I enjoyed some much need R & R.

I did next to nothing except for make meals, tickle tummys, and read Runner’s World.

It was glorious.

My boys, they had other plans…

My little rock throwers. And yes, we were right there…just out of camera shot, ready to grab them if they got too close.

Just look at that determination!

Sprout looking to see where his rock landed. Always the competitive one, he took it quite seriously.

The weather wasn’t the best, but we didn’t care. We spent most of our time at the indoor pool, taking scenic drives or snuggled up in our room watching movies. We did get in a little walk when the rain let up.

Oh, my heart. My world, my loves. This is what makes a vacation so memorable. Not where you go or what you do, but just spending time together.

Looks lovely...and familiar! I think I know right where that is...if I'm guessing right. I think my family goes there often! My son is 15 and he is still a rock thrower!!!

Hay! Have you been there before? I thought I recognized it from the post where you had a pic of your "three boys" and said the picture was crooked and fixed it? Yes, I may just have too much time on my hands :)

Anyways, I love those vacations where you just get to be with you and yours, who cares how the weather was as long as you enjoyed yourselves. Boys, they just gotta have something to throw in their hands as often as they can :0)

The last picture is so heartwarming! I cannot wait until my youngest is old enough to join in the fun with my oldest and my husband.

Hi Sweetie...
You are so right. It isn't what we do, or even if we go anywhere, but it is the company. The time we spend making the memories that will last us a lifetime.

I love the photos of the boys. Now that Sprout he may just be your sports guy. That competitiveness will sure come in handy there. That little Short Britches now he is a feisty one, I can just see it. Love the little faces sweetie. Just priceless. All you need is a little girl to be complete. She would keep these two boys in line.

Love that last photo. Your guys walking away into the sunset. Another day to explore tomorrow.

Oh I thank you SO much for sharing with me. I so love it when you do.
Can't wait to see their Halloween photos.

Many hugs sweetie and SO much love, Sherry

So true! We just had a fantastic camping trip up north. Nothing fancy, no electronics, just relaxing with the family enjoying God's creation. So glad you had a nice trip.

What wonderful pics of the boys & the trip ... no rain (angel blessings) can damper a loving time!

Love the determination of his rock throwing ... a sportsman on the horizon. They are just precious, my friend ... & Daddy walking with his boys, awwwwwww! melt the heart!

Have a great Halloween, take lots of pics ...

So true. And to do it up there, in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Well it just doesn't get better than that.

That first photo looks like one that would be in a brochure advertising for the area. Gorgeous. Your boys look like they had quite a good time. Rocks and water, what more does a little guy need?

This looks so very familiar. Are you a Lake Superior girl?!

Looks like you had a great time! I've always struggled to take compelling images of kids throwing rocks. You did a great job!
