Gone my heart melted
Baby boy water birth born
Now swims in my soul

Author’s note: No, Cubbie does not use a Nuk, as evidenced by the fact that he’s got it in upside down. He found it in a drawer, popped it in his mouth, and posed like this long enough for me to get a shot off.
This was my attempt at writing a Haiku poem. I linked up again this week to One Shot Wednesday. Stop over and check out the REAL poets!

He is beautiful and your poem is great. It speaks to a mother's soul!

Great poem, so few words but really told a whole story. I love it!
I think there's a real poet right here! :)

Thanks but I'm just an amateur :-)
Delightful. Thanks for sharing.
Oh, and since you posted a haiku and have a Twitter account, I wonder if you would like to share in the fun with a #bannedbookshaiku. If you check the hashtag, you can get a feel for them. May not be fantastic haikus, but they show support for not banning books.
By the way, I'd love to have you come see my poem, A Distant Drum Roll.
now swims in your soul ...he always will.. forever...love it...bkm
such a sweetie, and a sweet haiku - swims in your soul, is just so lovely
This is a wonderful haiku, and the picture is just adorable!
He is so precious. You said so much in very few words. :)
How wonderful! A sweet haiku to perfectly accompany such a sweet face. Really nice One Shot.
You are a goner for the rest of your life - those eyes will always be the undoing of your tender heart.
He's a precious boy - miss my baby boy who is a tall man
Thanks for the One Shot

I never tried a haiku poem, although I see many people doing them. I like how you made a connection with the water element.
He is so adorable.
I have to laugh every time I hear water birth. During my birth classes (preggo with Cole) they showed us videos of water births. All 3 of them were from the 70's. The videos were just awful. lol.
so cute! love how it is upside down. lol great shot! I'm sure you had to be quick!
How cute! Heartfelt lines.
..and they will never stop to swim in your soul - not matter how old they are...water birth..cool!
The ones we love always have a place in our hearts where we can see them. nice One Shot!
Look at that sweet precious boy!
I love a baby with a soother...melting my heart...
Delightful poem and image. I browsed your blog and I'd have to say you've got your priorities straight. Enjoy.

That is pretty darn adorable. Hope you are well my dear!
My 2 year old never used a pacifier as a baby and is now obsessed w/ them when she finds them!
Crazy kids!
cute pic!
Sweet photo and great poem! I wish I could put words together so eloquently as you do. :)
Oh. My heart melted. And I knew he didn't still use a bink...Jack does the same thing when he spots one in hiding. And he gave his up at 8 months! (Hannah refuses to use one for more than oh say 1.5 minutes...totally ok with that...James keeps trying though, he thinks they are "normal baby" things. He feels she is an abnormal baby...cause she doesn't use bottles or binkies.)
