My oldest grandson is 6 now, and he does the same thing. He simply WILL NOT smile for a camera. All attitude on his face. Sounds like your son is normal.
i can tell you - it's getting worse - as soon as they are teenagers you'll have a hard time to get them in front of a camera….at least that was the case with my children…smiles
So tell him to keep playing and pretend Mommy is not there. Maybe it will work :)
Mine whine about the camera too sometimes and they're older so I've gotten used to taking pictures of them just doing things and sometimes those are the best ones.
Sorry I haven't read for awhie...just trying to make it through life. Snug will still let me photograph him...but LMM is not too keen on it these days!
My son is the exact same way. He will even put his hand out in front of him like he is the celebrity and I am the paparazzi! I think school pictures will be interesting. haha.

Adorable!!! I love how you captured his expression so clearly... love it! :)
LOL! Yeah, Keegan does this occasionally. So frustrating to a photographer.

My kiddos always had their plastic smiles for the camera. They turned them on and off with a switch, I think.
Your sons are such cuties.

LOL! I get a lot of attitude now and he is only 2 1/2. He says Mama, no picture, no thanks. They are too funny!

That just tickles me to no end!
Aw, what a cutie! He must be the source of many "test photos". My husband is one of those and he acts the same way. :-)

Hehe, good luck. :). So hard when you are a mom who likes taking pictures.
How cute.... maybe just a stage? I hope he starts letting you get the kinds of shots you want.
What a beautiful face, that boy...smiles or not!
That's exactly how my son is! He's 4 years old too, and I swear I only have a handful of pictures where he's actually smiling.

This is so adorable! While I don't have kids, my siblings have become the same way ;)
You might need a long zoom - let him play and snap from afar. Either way...you got a few good ones!
Mine's 10, and he does the same thing!! That is, unless he's holding a new toy. Then he'll pose wonderfully. :)
Isn't that CUTE?
I love how you capture their personalities in your photos!
