Little Hands, Little Feet

Little hands

Little feet

We have created

Run, run, run

Between us, around us

Yell, cry, fight, and whine

I look to you

My anchor, my friend

And although weary and worn

We share this

Here and now

These moments of chaos and craze

You are my strength and I yours

Knowing we are in this

Together

And one day

And always

We again will be We

* * * * *

Author’s note: I wrote this poem for my husband. We love our boys dearly, but parenthood is a challenging thing, I tell ya! Cubbie has some back teeth coming in, so this past week has been tough. Needless to say, my baby fever for a third is OVER! ;-)

Yes, parenting is hard. I don't think anyone wants to discourage you from having children when you are younger, but boy do I wish I had been given some kind of clue as to how hard it is! That being said, I do love and adore all 4 of my kids and I don't think you should rid yourself of baby fever just yet! :)

First- I love my kids feet. Probably nobody else though. ha ha... But the picture is so very precious.

And the poem. Perfection! :)

Beautifully expressed through both words and image.

Little ones are so precious but a drain in energy to be sure. Cherish them and "We"

Nice one for One Shot

Thanks for dropping by! Read through your posts and noticed your love for PSE! I have it too. Wondering if you wanted to get rid of those (subtle) boxes around your pics on your blog...let me know, I can help!

Thanks for following, I'm flattered that you like the look of my blog! I also have pics of all 3 kids' feet when they were babies on my kitchen wall. Adorable!

I was surprised as I read your poem to discover it was about being a parent with your husband, and not just about those adorable little feet! I bet your husband loves it...I wish I was as creative!

Those years of little feet pass way too quickly. Lovely that you honor that and acknowledge it as it's happening. Lovely poem!

I think it's wonderful that you never forget the "we" that made those little feet! After all, the marriage will go on long after those little pitter pattering feeties have left the house.

Aw, such a sweet love poem. And yes, you will, but in the meantime, enjoy the little hands and little feet. They get big so quickly.

Oh, please come photography my children. Please please!

See, even on bad days I still have baby fever...does that mean I really am not done? Who knows. The Lord does.

I love the poem, thanks for sharing it. We had to go to the outlet mall today to find cleats for #1 (he left his at the field last weekend) and while we were there we bought something else completely unplanned (don't tell Dave Ramsey). It is a sign that says "I love you not because you are perfect, but because you are perfect for me."

This is SO SO SO sweet :)
Yes, parenting is SO crazy, but it is wonderful knowing that you have someone to help you out and back you up and share in all of the wonderful insanity of parenting!

That is a beautiful poem. I love it. I think my favorite part was the author's note, however. I have a third and my baby fever is over FOREVER!!! Good luck keeping yours at bay!
