I saved up my pennies, used MY envelope (thanks, Dave Ramsey) and bought Photoshop Elements 8!
Here’s as far as I’ve gotten:
Um, well…ahhh…(scratches head) ok then.
Any advice, websites, blogs, books, ect. that YOU recommend???

Do't look at me, sweetie! This would be about the time the mouse goes flying across the room in frustration ... chuckle! One day I'll understand all this stuff that hubby has to do for me ... but he isn't holding his breath, lmty!
Love the kid-lings pics. Last night I got to play/love/hold a 3 week old & got that 'baby fever' back BIG time. She is only 5 1/2#, so petitie & just perfect! I could have stayed forever ... & then she spit up!
Have a lovely PINK weekend.

Julie from Peanut Gallery suggested Coffee Shop Blog which I LOVE. They have step by step tutorials to help us newbies. I'm still only learning, but it's fun to play around with PSE, you'll love it!
Have fun!!
Have you tried the pioneer woman's photography blog? I think she has some pretty good tuturials. Good luck!! I have photoshop envy now! Can't wait to see all your beautiful pics!
did you know (and I realize this info it too late) that adobe offers a student/teacher discount and Lightroom 3 is only a few bucks more if you use that discount? Yes...I had to beg and cry until one of my friend's husbands had mercy on me and ordered it ... but I'll be getting it in the mail this week! I was told to google Lightroom tutorials and I would have the world at my fingertips...so I'm assuming if you google photoshop elements tutorials you will too!
Good luck...and have fun!
ha. sounds like you have some good help..i already marvel at your pics...i am picture unintelligent...
Very tempted to buy this for myself, so was interested to read this and the comments.
Your photos are wonderful. Thanks for calling by my blog!
I got it a few months ago... it is fun to play with but I can't say I really even know what I'm doing! :) enjoy learning! let me know if you find any great helps!
i thought about buying it as well - and have downloaded a 30 day trial version.
On you tube are lots of video tutorials available that are quite helpful.
I want that...and a new camera! :) Hope you learn how to use it so you can teach me! LOL!
@ Everyone
Thanks, please keep the tips coming!!!
So far, I've learned that Ctrl+O is for opening a photo...:-)
I've got tons of links on my blog under INSPIRATION - I have PSE7 and most of my tutorials and editing work is geared toward that program. Let me know if I can be of any help to you! Congrats on the purchase.
... raspberry filled doughnuts? & a spot of tea?
Hugs, Marydon
Coffeeshop was where I learned alot. She has great tutorials. So glad you took the plunge! Oh, and we're big fans of Dave Ramsey as well. ;)
That's so exciting!! Good luck figuring it all out! :)
I have NO clue.. but please pass along any great tips you get!! I got PSE 8 about a month or two ago and have NO idea how to do anything with it. I would be a MUCH better editor if I could just figure the dern thing out ;)
That's awesome!! I am downloading a trial version of CS5 right now and will probably save my pennies, too, for elements!
I love how you said you used your envelope, and the shout out to Dave Ramsey- haha. We just went through his program this past Spring.
Let us know what you learn and how it works for you. I want to hopefully make a new blog header.
HAVE A BLAST!!!
Envelopes with Ramsey! Love it - FPU allowed for my wife to stay home with the boy all the time!
I bet you are having so much fun. I miss it. I had it when I was teaching school.
when you learn how to use it please teach me. I have not figured out anything. I refuse to spend the money until I know more
Depends on what you want to do with your photo. Do you just want to enhance the photo? Then the two websites mentioned Pioneer Woman and CoffeeShop are good places to get photo actions and tutorials from. I don't remember if either place tells you "How" to get the actions into the right place in PSE. Hummie's World has some great tutorials on where and how to put things in PSE to use them.
If you are thinking about jumping into the world of digital scrapbooking give me a shout. I can pull together a list of many of my favorite places.
I want this program so bad. I checked into the student/teacher version and it is much cheaper. It's on my list to buy right along with the lens I want for my camera to. Your photo's are wonderful. I found you at Blog Frog and am a new follower.
You may by now have found a few others but just in case you haven't I wanted to mention www.everydayelementsonline.com and www.mcpactions.com.
I purchased PSE 8 in March & I LOVE it! I have tons of free actions that are awesome & easy to figure out. If you ever have a question shoot me an email & I'll see if I can help.
