Dine on fresh fish, caught directly from the lake…

Your chariot awaits you as we provide excursions deep into the forest…
Your tour guide will be attentive to ALL your needs…
You will experience first class amenities…
as we welcome you with open arms! :-)
The real deal….yes, we are back! We had a blast at my in-laws cabin. That is after we outran THREE tornado warnings on our way there! We brought our pop-up camper and slept inside, but used the cabin for cooking and showers. And yes, the cabin really has an outhouse! No longer in use, of course.
Here’s the view we woke up to every morning…
The boys spent every waking moment outside in either the water or the sand…
We went on several boat rides in my father in-law’s old boat…
and just enjoyed spending time together as a family!
We are happy to be back, minus a few (like two dozen) mosquito bites. Bring on the aloe vera and Toy Story band-aids!

Oh my goodness! I don't know what's cuter... your boys... or that old out house! lol
Great photos as usual!
Looks like a wonderful time... one of the best things about living in the midwest!!
Isn't that the life? You all look like you had a wonderful time.
I love it! Lake homes are right up my alley. My wife prefers the beach, and that's where we're heading tomorrow for a week in North Carolina. I'll tolerate it. But getting away to a lake is my style. It looks like you had fun, and I love your explanations to each picture. Very funny. It's nice to see a face to go along with your name now that you've changed blogs.
Beautiful! The post was too funny. Where was this?
Sign me up! I would love to go camping with those handsome boys!! What fun :) As long as somebody will put the worm on the hook for me? Always grossed me out.. my daddy would always get it ready to go for me because I was a bit to girlie for that part ;)
So glad yall had a wonderful time!!
Wonderful photos. My family loves to camp and hike. Thanks for visiting my blog via blog frog :)
Now I'm off to check out some of your photography links.
Have a great weekend!

ps- came via BF's FF- staying for the long haul : )
Welcome home! I saw that first photo of the lake and it just made me take a deep breath. What an exhilarating location and the kids are such cutie pies!
What an awesome view! I love those rain barrel flower pots--reminds me of my country upbringing!
Looks like the boys had a fantastic time! Soon they'll be catching your dinner for you!
Looks like you had a wonderful time! Love the shot of you and the boys. And that is perhaps the prettiest shot of an outhouse I have ever seen ;)
gorgeous pics! looks and sounds like you had a great time! you know i used one of those outhouses when i lived outdoors for a year...we dug and built it ourselves...
Now that is the way to camp! I love your pictures. Especially the one of the little ones on the pier. So adorable.
That last boat picture with the clouds is awesome. That does look like an awesome trip.
Sweetie! You are back!! Sure missed you!
I love those old outhouses ... what a lovely scenic area you were in ... you all obviously had a grand time. I so love the pics of the boys ... they are just the cutest kid-lings ever! & that catch on his fish line, too cute!
So happy you all enjoyed your trip. Little more rustic than I could deal with ... I need all the amenities to go camping with, chuckle ... city slicker here.
Anywhooooo, just tickled you are back.
Have a lovely weekend.
Hugs, Marydon
It looks like you had so much fun! :-) My parents have an outhouse too, and it's a DOUBLE SEATER, and it still works! (Not that I've tried it out, mind you...)
Love it! Glad to hear you had a great experience :)
Oh that looks like so much fun! I thought your hubby was peeing off the deck for a second. But I was just scrolling down too fast. lol!! I know you would not take a picture of him doing that. :-P
