Why talk about "Mama Guilt," you ask? Because I think it’s good to share our Mama Guilt so we know we are not alone. We all struggle in this wonderful, chaotic, ever challenging thing called motherhood! See the Linky at the bottom of this post to link up.

Here’s today’s optional prompt:
Balancing Blogging & Being a Mom
* * * * * *
Well, how do I start this one? I guess just by telling you…
I’ve decided to stop doing Mama Guilt Mondays. At least for the Spring/Summer months. For two very good reasons:
1. I never realized how demanding a weekly meme can be. I found myself being distracted on the weekends wondering what topic to post instead of focusing on my family. Yes, I know, major Mama Guilt!
2. Camping season is fast approaching! I just didn’t want to come home late on Sunday from a camping trip beat tired and still have to worry about getting a post together AND a prompt!
So, that’s the honest truth, my friends! Maybe in the Fall I’ll pick Mama Guilt Mondays back up. We’ll see.
With that being said, I am so proud of all you moms (and a few dads) who have shared your Mama Guilt along with me! I’ve felt encouraged reading the posts and comments every week. It’s been so refreshing to know that I’m not alone in this wonderful, chaotic, ever challenging thing called motherhood!

I so understand and appriciate that you are putting family first. especially when it comes to camping. my husband would be THRILLED
The summer does change up blogging doesnt it? I have noticed that already as well... good for you for making a decision that promotes your highest priorities!! You are an inspiration!
I so understand and am so glad to hear we are not the only ones crazy enough to go camping with small children! Thanks for hosting today!
We want a camp. With 4 kids it's going to be pretty tough for us to take big family vacations every year . . . we feel like a camp we can go to throughout the summer would be a better investment and produce more great memories! :0)
I bet a weekly meme is hard to keep up with. I do a once a month giveaway, and sometimes it seems like a lot! We all need a break from blogging sometimes too, so don't have any guilt about it!
It is tough keeping up with memes....I have a couple myself. :) We all have to step away at times and focus on what's really important.
CONGRATS on winning the Bath and Body Works gift card during the UBP 2010 party too!! I just send you an email regarding your prize.

I'm guilty so I linked up.
Camping season, yay! :-)
It is hard to do blogging sometimes when you have a little one. I try and do it during nap time or time when she is doing something. I have a laptop now and that helps out. Good for you for taking time for you and your family.. Let me know when it is back. I know I stopped by every now and then and did it but I will do it again.. Thanks for the nice comments today...
Have a great day..
Totally understandable. This is the first meme I've ever followed through on. I've tried to in the past, but they are so time consuming...and I'm just a participant, not the meme maker!
I understand and hope you have a wonderful summer! Thank you so much for hosting Mama Guilt Mondays! Have fun camping!
Sara
I don't want to add to your guilt, but I was very sad to read this today! :(
Still, I understand your reasons completely.
I will publish my Mama Guilt post later...

Wait what, no more Mama Guilt Mondays!!
Good for you both reasons sound worth while to me. Fellow lover of camping so I applaud you in taking some time to unplug and enjoy your time with family. Cute post and great way to put things on pause. Look forward to reading your blog just the same.
Cheers!!
enjoy the break...and i look forward to more writings like the magpie yesterday...
coincidentally that is why i dont do a meme myself...you never know what inspiration might hit and not fit in the box you have created.
i have enjoyed reading htem though. smiles.
Enjoy the break from this meme. I love camping as well. This might be the first summer we go camping with the kids. Just alittle hesitant with Mr A being curious and wondering off :/
Okay, seriously...I just had my first meme last week, and already I am stressing about how to keep it up. Sigh. Good for you!
Maybe when I get tired of doing it, I'll pass the torch to someone else who wants to host it.
i can imagine how stressful it is...proud of you for putting family first!!!
<3
Just linked up with my last Mama Guilt post for a while!... *sob* *sniff* :(
Seriously though, hope you have a great summer full of camping trips and stress-free weekends!! :)

I had to laugh when I read this because 1. I didn't have time to write a post for today and meant to, so I thought to myself that I could just link up next Monday, and 2. I've been wondering if I should try to start a meme because it seems to bring in a lot of readers! Summer time is really a hard time to blog...last summer, my blog suffered a lot!
(I think you are making a good decision, by the way!)
you won my giveaway today..
I will be emailing you soon..
Congrats...
Thanks for entering and have a wonderful day..

We will be here waiting for you. I guess in the meantime we will just have to keep reading this site. Just being silly. I look forward to more of your writing and photographs. You are very talented, my friend. :-)
I think it's great that you're just gonna relax and let go for the summer! And congrats on your prize win at Amy's!!!
It is tough to keep balance in everything!!
You are a trendsetter my dear. Take time with your family!!! Your other family (me, myself and us) will be here when you return - with guilt stored just for the telling.
Since my laptop died (it was brand new) I have written one and a half short stories and a couple of essays. Woot! As much as I love love love blogging- I need to keep my writing momentum when I return. My new lap will be here any day.

Good for you for taking a Summer break! I am already finding it SO hard to keep up with blogging now that it is nice out...outside fun with my babies definitely beats out computer time. :)
Good for you for making your family a priority. I'm sure all your 'linkers' will understand. Have you thought about asking someone else to host it for you over the summer?
G'day, CM ~ My guilt is that I did NOT say NO to our child enough & it has torn many years of lives apart, despite constant trying to put things back together. We accept responsibility for being weak, giving in & are disappointed to still be paying the price ... learn from our mistakes.
Have a great summer's eve ~
TTFN ~ Marydon
