We sleep in a hide-a-bed for the 1st time!
We stop at the local Ben Franklin…
and find the same EXACT pair of Carhartt pants…
Daddy has hidden in the stacks for the past three years!
And when we can’t find anything better to do, we stand on our heads!

This is so delightful! I have never heard of a Ben Franklin until today. The checkers game is precious. You should put these pics together in shadow box with a few of the checker pieces and a scrap of the Carhart pants! Anyhoo, thanks for stopping by my blog; I'm so glad I found yours.
Lounge around at my parents house (they live 13 hours away) and watch Imagination Movers and record my son doing the dance. Take pictures of my daughter's sand covered behind while lounging at the river's edge. Bottle feed calves and milk cows and chase chickens, and run through sprinklers, and ride on tractors (okay, this is stuff my kids do).
We visit my parents every year for a few weeks and instead of your normal sleep in a motel and go places you've never been, we sleep in a fifth wheel and visit friends and practice farm life. It's so relaxing.

We just love to explore whether it be on foot or in the car. We often AVOID all the touristy spots and restaurants and go to the places the locals like. Sometimes hanging out in the hotel room and getting a movie and snacks and staying up is more fun than at home. Why is that?
I love your pictures! You make ordinary things like a Ben Franklin sign look beautiful! We vacation to see family in upstate NY and spend the entire trip eating pizza!

When I travel by myself (for military or business reasons) I always go on a ride-along with a local department.
As an entire family, we make it a point to find the absolute best breakfast place in the area and compare the bacon to our local favorite. It'll be in my book "Chewing the Fat: Conversations over bacon".
They're just so cute, and I like those interesting checker pieces.
Love the pictures!! We stand our heads on vacation too...okay maybe not but now we just might. :) We always do lots and lots of swimming on vacation.

We have an annual trip to Mammoth Lakes, CA each summer and stay in a cabin on Lake George. We play games and read. There is no TV!
We go to the most wonderful bakery on the drive up in Bishop and my husband gets an unsliced loaf of Sheepherders bread and pulls at the middle to eat it. Then we get jerky and eat that on the way up.
It's tradition!

Just catching up. Sounds like vacation was a huge success. Bet the boys will remember the fire for a long time.
Vacation? Well, last year we went to the camp I work at (and #1 and I met at) and did family camp. But usually we just travel fun places with his softball team. Nothing quite as exciting as your trip though!
These pics are so adorable...those little boys are totally endearing. My favorite? I love the checkers little-boy style!!! And sleeping in a hide-a-bed, that had to be a treat. Kids find the best in the simplest activities...It shows you're glad to have them in your life.

We have our rituals. We go to the same places to eat. We pretty much do the same thing vacation after vacation, but we love it.
