It’s seed starting time!
Last year was our first time attempting a vegetable garden. It was a bit of trial and error, but the fresh lettuce and crisp green beans were worth it!
Sprout was so excited to help Daddy drop the teeny tiny seeds into the little compartments.
He did a great job! And DH did a good job being patient with him!
This one I couldn’t resist but have in color! Now I just hope they actually LOOK like this! :-)
Do YOU plant a vegetable garden? If so, what are YOUR favorites???

<3
I love the idea of planting a garden, but I quickly bore of the watering and weeding. Sad! This year I want to plant some rhubarb, jalapenos, and a green pepper plant. I'm keeping it small. I hope your garden grows wonderfully!
How FUN!! We did have a garden at our old house, but have not done one here...... we have too many animals that eat and destry everything!
There is nothing better than home grown veggies...... I hope they turn out to be as good and beautiful as they look on the package. Good Luck~

I love planting veggie gardens! We love to do lettuce, beans, and peppers! Come on Spring!
I always have an herb garden, but this is going to be our first year doing a vegetable garden. I can't wait. I hope to start some seeds this weekend.
I found this really cool site, I think it's called A cook's garden, they have some really different things. I want to fill up our freezer this year.
I love your black and white Wednesdays. You really should make an album of all these beautiful shots.
I could LOVE to have a garden. All those fresh fruits and veggies.
Wow, I need to stop. I am drooling on my key board.
We don't usually plant veggies, but I saw a planter thing like that at the store the other day and really wanted to buy it!
How fun! This year I am planting herbs....love cilantro and dill! And I think I'm going to plant tomatoes for my 16yo daughter..she can't get enough of them :) I can't wait to get started!
Love your pics today! It looks like your little one had a blast planting with daddy. I would love to have a real vegetable garden. The only thing I currently have is parsley and basil. I've tried tomatoes but the iguana's love to eat them before I get the chance to pick them myself. I think the weather here in S. Florida makes it tough to grow a lot of veggies. Who knows, maybe one year I'll become adventurous and try as many as you do each year. Good luck and I look forward to seeing a picture of your garden in full bloom!
I want to do a garden! I say this every year. Might actually happen some day :-).

Your boys are so cute! I think so every time you post a picture.
I'm so jealous. We can't plant gardens in our complex, but one day we hope to have a nice big garden. I love fresh veggies!
We wanted to grow a garden last year and this...but we plan to put the house on the market and will hopefully be out of here by the end of the summer. My husband says, why do all the work so someone else can reap the benefits...but if the house doesn't sell, I'll be disappointed! Maybe a few big pots of tomatoes or something like that will do the trick!
how very cool..and that you involve the littles...we do plant, though the deer enjoy much of the fruits of our labor...smart bugger just find a way...tomatoes are a fav...and our grape vine...
I remember planting seeds like that when I was little.
It seems I never find the time to do it anymore but your post has inspired me to do it with my children this year....what wonderful memories watching them grow all summer will be.
Lovely B&Ws (and color too!)
Such sweet photos of your little one. **swoons** I remember way back when my 6'4" soldier was that little and he loved gardening. It is a good thing to learn early in life to care for living things...nurture. **blows kisses** Deb
How fun and the lil guy can help too! i usually plant tomatoes. Nothing so far this year.
Last year was our first year without a garden because we moved into our new unfinished home.
This year I am working on it. We love fresh cherry and Roma tomatoes, sweet Hungarian peppers, cukes and lots of herbs.
Really love the b&w! (Found you via Wordful Wednesday!)
I have always wanted to... just not sure where to start! LOL
Good reminder, I need to get going on starting stuff inside. We do tomatoes, peppers and basil usually, but I think I'll carve out another area this year for a few other things.
We had our first garden last year too! The tomato plant was good, but we are hoping for a better one this year. I would love to try lettuce!
Seed planting time, woohoo! What a great way to involve the whole family too! We love to plant a garden as a family, and the kids get so excited to pick out plants, help plant them, and then watch them grow. How fun!
I k now you are going to laugh... but I have never started from seeds!? Usually when we plant ours we wait until Good Friday and plant just the little plants in our garde.. email me if you get a minute and tell me all the tricks of the trades of starting from seeds. I think it would be alot of fun and prob a little cheaper. Love me some fresh tom.,green peppers, and cucumbers!
Thanks for the inspiration
We just ordered our seeds on Monday, so we should have our pre-planting done next week. We plant tomatoes, peppers, beans, carrots, and for the first time this year, skyscraper sunflowers. It's so much fun!
yes i have a vegetable garden. we plant just about everything but last year we planted beets. if you roast them you will think you have died and gone to heaven they are sooooo good. what a great lesson for your children in reaping what they sow! good luck with the garden.
Precious!
He'll enjoy his only little sprouts soon!
Nope, I can't seem to get anything to grow for long. But I always admire those who can. Make sure you post pictures as it grows!
To cute! Good luck w/ y'alls garden. I wish I could grow one. I kill everything even cactus! Sersly!!!
We plant one every year. My favorite thing in the whole garden is the tomatoes and green peppers!
peas!! yummy! pumpkins, zucchini for zucchini bread of course! and carrots (not so successfully) and tomatoes not so successfully either! ugh!? to name a few... I am thinking spaghetti squash?? ;)
Happy Planting!
Just Jenn~
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Adaption is the key when raising crazy little boys! My husband wants a garden. I can't wait until we own a home and have the space to have a garden.
I just planted onions and broccoli today! I have some tomato and pepper seed that I need to let the kids plant. My daughter loves planting things. Good luck with the garden!
This is one of my goals this year is to start a garden...even though I have NO idea what I am doing! So apparently I should start by doing this. Maybe You should just post when you do something so I can just follow your lead. :)
I'm trying to get motivated to do a little garden with my kiddos. I just know how much work is going to have to be put into it, though! My biggest problem is getting out there to get the ground ready... I don't wanna do it!
My kids have been begging me to do this! They're not so good about delayed gratification though. I hope your little guy is more patient. ;)
Sweet photos!

No but I really really should :)
Beautiful pictures
We planted seeds today! We planted watermelon, cantaloupe, red bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, zucchini, yellow summer squash, and sunflowers. Cole had to have sunflowers, because Curious George grew a sunflower.
What fun. That is one of the only things I miss about the NW is the ease of planting and maintaining a garden!! We cant do it where we live now because it is too dry and not enough water!! :-)
Sounds like a great project. Wishing you great success with your garden this summer.
What fun. I hope you get some good things out of it. Now my son wants to plant seeds to.
Happy wed. not long now and we be on the weekend again

:)
Love you photos. I look forward to seeing some of your bountiful harvest!
Darling picts! Love tomatos in a garden of mine. Mmmm.
I can't wait for our garden this year... I'm starting to map the whole thing out and I'm thinking it's gonna be a good one!
G'eve sweet friend ~ Yes, we garden, small. These pictures of your kid-lings so brought back memories of my kid-lings planting the seeds & watching them grow. Precious pictures & moments for you to treasure & they, forever. I love the serious look on his face ...
Shamrocks & blessings ~
Hugs, Marydon
Not anymore. My wife used to have a veggie garden, but she thought it was a lot of work over the years and eventually gave it up. But I hope your vitamins and minerals "sprout" up with vim and vigor.
We planted strawberries for the first time this year! The girls are out there every day checking on them :-)
Wow! You are going to have some wonderful produce in a few months!
we have plants growing as well!! The girls are SO enjoying watching them all come up. :) lots of fun!
I wish I could garden. I decided this year not to waste money trying to replant any of my gardens again. They just die and hundreds of dollars is now twigs and deer/rabbit fertilizer.
He is so sweet and intense : ) What a cutie. We don't plant a garden. We do plant some tomatoes that is fun. No one likes to eat them though. Silly : )
I really need to come over here more often! You have such a fun and inspiring blog! Love that Sprout wanted to help. That's just what my John would do. He loves to 'help'.
Planting is such a great lesson for kids. Love the close up of their hands.
Good luck with your seeds!
I should really start some seeds. I have packets in my junk drawer that I bought TWO YEARS AGO with all the good intentions in the world ... but you see where those good intentions led me. :)
