Counting Calories Made Easy: MyNetDiary

mynetdiary2

I have been struggling to lose my last ten pounds of baby weight. Considering Cubbie is now 21 months old, I knew I needed to get serious about what I eat.

The hard part – tracking those calories! Let’s be honest, pulling out a pen and paper every time you put a morsel of food in your mouth is not exactly realistic. That’s why I am so excited to tell you about MyNetDiary:

.MyNetDiary

It’s an online food diary where you can track your calories and activity.

The best part for me, it has a Blackberry App! (iPhone App too.)That means I can log what I eat on my phone right after a meal.

Here are the highlights:

1. Food entries: MyNetDiary instantly and intelligently searches while you type. You can enter foods 2-3 times faster than with any other app. MyNetDiary remembers your food choices, so the next time you only need to type in the first few letters to find it.

2. Food Database: With over 86,000 food listings, I have yet to manually enter in a food label. I even found organic brand names.

3. Log Your Calories Anywhere - Online or Mobile: When you’re out and about, use your smartphone. Once home, you can go online and analyze your diet, view reports, or download Excel files from the comfort of a large screen and keyboard.

Interested? Head over to MyNetDiary, browse their website, and see if their tools are right for you.

Disclosure: I received a free six month membership to MyNetDiary. I was not paid for this post. This is just my honest opinion after trying out their product.

Okay, I am going to have to look into this. After getting to within 5 pounds of my goal weight, I gained more back. :-( boo hoo!!

I found a similar app for my droid...it's a calorie counter/weight/exercise tracker that links up to fatsecret.com it's a great one too that let's you customize with a diet plan (like weight watchers) and you can easily look up foods when you are eating out and it has a barcode scanner for stuff you have at home. I'm not trying to lose now but I am tracking my weight so I don't gain too fast or too much during my pregnancy. Tools like these make it so much more convenient! Good luck with your weight loss journey!

I've been using SparkPeople, but not Blackberry app. Will have to check it out, although unsure about paying when honestly, if I'd just stop being lazy I could do it for free ;) Story of my life. But I have been dropping 3 lbs a week for the last month, so I'm moving that direction.

You can do it!

I hate counting calories! I might have more success if I did though! Good luck on your journey to lose weight! I have a post on my blog about ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) which helps you lose weight naturally! Try it out! I use it everyday. ;)

Will you keep us updated on your success in using this?

I too am stuck with my last ten pounds (or 15), and need to get it off! I'm not a calorie counter. Can't stand it. Might have to give in though.

Keeping track is the key. When I started weight watchers on line last year, I discovered that apparently my body only requires 3 calories a day in my dotage. Good luck! Looks like a handy tool.

Looks like a great program! Right now I am pregnant and thus on the "gaining weight" track, but the day is soon approaching when I hope to reverse it all! ;)

I love gadgets, but haven't utilized any to loose the 10-15 pounds I still have. How bad is it that my girlie will be 5 and I still have it!!?? Yikes I know! I guess I may need to try something like this to help me!

I remember counting calories a long time ago, and it just became too much of an effort. Nowadays, I just try to watch what I eat and the amounts.
