Problem was, Sprout wasn't having any of it. "Mama, I wanna come," or "I'll be good," and the hardest, "But Daddy doesn't sing the Goodnight Song like you do!" UGH, talk about Mama Guilt!
So, I asked him if he wanted to pretend to get ready with me…
Every boy needs at least five hair clips, right?
And no, honey, that’s not a scissors.
Oh, you already have a natural glow, my sweetheart!
Good job, I think you’re getting the hang of this!
Wait, NO! Not in your nose!
So the question is, should my Mama Guilt be:
1. I went out Saturday night.
2. I allowed my SON to wear hairclips and pretend to apply makeup.
3. I actually posted pictures of it!

I see no guilt in any of it! Good for you for letting him play and not over analyzing it :) And he's young enough where pictures were a must. The threat of them coming back out may help you during the teen years.
Mine use to do that and add big teary sad eyes (and I rarely went out without them). Kiddos come equipped with guilt causing tools. I'm just saying. But we always need to have our own friends and have a night out once in a while.
My son has three older sisters who used to paint his toes! One time, we went out to dinner/movie for the first time in forever! (This was before cellphones) After the movie we called home, just checking in, and the babysitter says to me, your dad says to tell you first William is ok, but he is in the ER! He had a febrile seizure and my parents met him at the hospital. My dad (who is a dr) was upset because his toes were painted red!!!! Had my mom ask the nurses for remover to take the color off!! I had all kinds of mama guilt that night!!!
I have something for you on my blog!!!
G'morn ~ How absolutely precious!! Guilt!?!?? Absolutely not, Daddy is just going to have to learn to sing better ... chuckle!
Hope you truly had a wonderful time.
Love sprouts pics.
Have a beautiful week!

No guilt you got to still do something fun with your son and got some time for you. Yeah.. Thanks for hosting this.. I hope I did my post okay..
Have a great day.
I used to feel guilty when I'd go out and it took me a long time to be ok with it. But we need to take care of ourselves too, and when Mama's happy, everyone's happy!
Hi Cop Mama! Nice to meet you I hopped over from A Police Wife.
Yessssssssssss, ever since we had our second I feel like the bond with my 3 year old son is barely there. It is though and sometimes I just want to hand off the baby for a day and go and run and play all day with my little pal just him and me like the good old days :( Nice post.
A few hours out for yourself is certainly okay. Years from now he won't even remember it. Just save the pictures for when he's a teenager. They make for good blackmail leverage.
I agree with everyone else. Your time with friends was important too.
I linked up this week! It seems my daughter would like a pet. Oy!
Don't feel guilty for any of it. I work full time too and I hate being away from my kiddos!
But every so often you need to be with your girl friends. Oh amd my son sometimes tries to wear deodorant, not his daddy's, MINE!
Emma loves to get ready with me. She's always digging in my purse for "the pretties" aka lip gloss.
Ah, guilt. It's been my friend lately. Haven't been feeling well, and as a result, I've been crabby and spending a lot of time zoning out and not doing much with the kids.
Lol! For now no guilt needed at all, in a few years that you posted the pictures of him.. he will make you feel bad for it :)
Your guilt should not be that you let him do it, or that you posted pictures. Your guilt should come later in life when he has a girlfriend and you show her the pictures! Yes, that there is the guilt.
I have only one big guilt this weekend, but it is totally not my fault. I had to work this weekend and I missed my sons basketball game, and he did so good!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I'm dying - this is too funny. My son does this but I never admit it because I'm afraid it'd scar him or piss off my hubby. HAHAHAHAHAHA
AND I have some awards for ya on my blog :-)
haha, too cute. I agree with everyone saying your guilt will be more when you show them later in life. What a great way to break the ice with a girlfriend later on, lol! Thanks for the post and pictures! Loved them!
Aww, cute pictures! :) I don't think you should have any guilt. Especially since you work 40 hours! Wow! I can understand how it might have been hard to get away, especially since he said that his Daddy didn't sing the song the same way. Awwww. :)
Oh, and thanks for the sweet comment on my blog. :)

Great meme! I wouldn't feel guilty about those things...especially the pictures. Too cute!
Ah! I love the pictures. You need a little girl I think :o)
Hey! I linked up this week, about time, huh?
Hey Cop Mama...

I am glad you had fun!! My mom guilt of the day?? I just threw away a huge stack of the kids art work. Ugh! I just cant hold onto it anymore... MUST GET ORGANIZED.

Love it! You shouldn't feel guilty about any of it. You worked him into the party and at the same time you got some ME time! Plus it's good for kids to get one on one with each parent once in awhile.
Is it a problem if my 6 year old boy still wants to get ready with me:) Holly
Sorry you felt guilty about going out on Saturday but I'm SO glad you did! I had such a good time, it was nice hanging out with the girls. We're doing it again...we figured we should plan on quarterly. :)
Don't feel guilty. As long as time with friends is not abused I think it makes us better moms!
With 10 children, the time I take for myself is to exercise - it keeps me sane - most days anyway!
That is just hilarious. Don't we make ourselves guilty about everything? And if we're not aware of it now, it's sure to be something we feel guilty about later. After all, no matter what, isn't it always mama's fault?
Hi,
(Me again!)
I'm still working on returning all the Friday Follow favors -
Thanks for following my second blog...

P.S.
When I finally get through with all this Friday Follow stuff...
I'm definitely going to check out your blog more!
:-)
That's very cute, but unless he's a teenager doing all that to get ready then there's no guilt in any of it. Afterall, didn't you buy him a pink camper for Christmas?
nothing therapy can fix later! ;) very cute pic with those clips!! haha!
Just Jenn~
LOL-Love the pics! Glad to have found your blog.
And I would not be feeling guilty about any of it. (but that's 5 kids and much guilt under the bridge later)
Love the pics. Once took a pic of one of my son's in my daughter's dress when he was about 2. He is now 11 and only now does he not go into a rage when he sees it. Am sure by the time he is a dad he will laugh about it.
Same for your son.
Oh that's great! I think you handled it just right. What a cuite.
Baaahahaha! That last pic cracks me up! I'm so happy we have a bigger bathroom now because no matter what I always have at least 2-3 boys in the bathroom w/ me when I try to get dressed!
Haha love the pictures. Hey I let Chase play with my makeup brushes and one of his favorite things to do is do my hair.
Hope you had a great time!
Oh, that is so cute! I have to admit, we loved putting makeup on my little brother!
One of these days I'll join in the fun and write a mama guilt post. It's such a great meme!
Ok, so the 1st one would get to me a little bit...but not the other 2!
HA!! I don't think u shld feel guilty for any of this. However, posting the pictures may get you in trouble years down the road. :)
Oh my gosh. I loved this sweet little post : ) He is SO cute : ). He will look at this and laugh someday! Or his girlfriend will : ) Either/Or!
There's no guilt here! I love the photos.
That is so cute! No need to feel guilty for any of it. I'm sure he'll eventually forgive you, but you HAVE to save those pics to show future girlfriends. You know, when he's like 35 and you finally allow him to date!
